Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) is a Government Veterinary college located in Gazipur, Bangladesh. "Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University" offers 5.5 years Veterinary course approved by UGC Of Bangladesh, Govt. of Bangladesh. Affiliated by the University of Dhaka, recognized by Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI). 

The FVMAS is one of the most important and promising faculties of BSMRAU which was established on 25th December 2010 by the 56th Syndicate meeting of BSMRAU. The faculty started its first journey with undergraduate program Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2011 under course credit system with the enrolment of qualified 20 students. The vision and mission of the faculty are to produce clinically trained qualified veterinarians who are dedicated to protect and improve the livestock and poultry sectors in the country. The faculty is also focusing on biodiversity and wildlife conservation with the treatment, prevention, and control of Zoonotic diseases, surgical intervention and management. Currently, the faculty comprises 10 academic departments with highly qualified 34 teachers and 263 undergraduate students. The faculty has a well-equipped livestock & poultry farm supporting for teaching and research. A modern veterinary teaching hospital has been built for the diagnosis of diseases, anaesthesia, surgical and medical treatment with a strong compassionate service to all patients. Currently, FVMAS is offering MS program from four departments. In addition, the faculty is committed to launching a PhD program in different areas of livestock & poultry production and diseases protection in near future.
