Medical College for Women & Hospital is a project of the Medical and Health Welfare Trust, established in 1992. The project began with four visionaries – Prof. A.Q.M. Badruddoza Choudhury, Former President, and People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Prof. M.R. Khan, National Chairman, Prof. A. M. Mujibul Haq, Founder Principal, MCWH, and Prof. Suraiya Jabeen, Founder, Treasurer, who dreamed of a medical college exclusively for women.

The institute aims to teach selected female candidates for five academic years according to the syllabus of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) for an MBBS degree to be conferred by Dhaka University and then impart training of closely supervised internship for one year to create high-quality career doctors for the nation.

The institute is recognized by the WHO (World Health Organization), National Medical Commission (NMC)/MCI (Medical Council of India), Medical Board of California, USA and listed in the World Directory of Medical School and ECFMG (Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates). Eligibility Criteria for Admission (Session: 2025-26)

Eligibility for admission in MBBS/BDS course in Bangladesh Govt. Medical and Private Medical & Dental Colleges are approved by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Medical Education Unit). Bangladesh govt. has formulated the following requirements for admission in MBBS/BDS course in the Govt. & private Medical & Dental colleges.

For the MBBS course – The eligibility of candidates is as follows:

• Students who have passed SSC in 2020 or 2021 and HSC in 2022 or 2023 with GPA of 7.00. GP 3.50 in Biology at HSC Level is compulsory for all students.
• Students with O & A level qualifications and international students with similar or equivalent qualifications should apply with a certificate of equivalence issued from the Director-General, Health Directorate, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
• International students will have to arrange attestation of their SSC(SSE) & HSC(SSCE) equivalence certificate & mark sheets from their foreign ministry and submit their papers through Bangladesh Embassy in the concerned countries.
• In the case of national/foreign students admission will be invalid if any document is found to be a discrepancy, before or after admission. No extra foreign/national students will be admitted in excess of the number already specified by the govt. of Bangladesh. 
  Admission will be made on the basis of the results of the MBBS admission test organized by DGHS, Govt. of Bangladesh. The minimum score requirement for admission is 40 (For  local Student).

Admission Process

For Local Student: Application forms along with prospectus will be available from the office of the Principal on payment of Taka 1000/- for local students who have undergone the admission process conducted by the Director, Medical Education, Ministry of Health, Government of Bangladesh and selected for admission in Govt. and Private medical colleges.
