The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program in Chitwan Medical College was initiated with its first batch of 80 students on Mangshir, 2066 BS. This program is a five-and-a-half-year (5½ year) course, with four and a half years of study followed by a year of compulsory internship. The program is designed to produce physicians who are knowledgeable of the principles of modern medical science and who have mastered the art of critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process in order to engage in the practice of medicine as competent professionals.
The MBBS curriculum that is followed at CMC is a community-oriented curriculum and has integrated teaching-learning activities. It has been developed to provide learning opportunities enabling medical students to acquire fundamental knowledge develop basic skills and appreciate principles relevant to health care in the context of the community.

About Chitwan Medical College (In my own view)
Bharatpur City: CMC is located at Bharatpur-10, Chitwan, which is southern central
Nepal. It is the second largest metropolitan city in Nepal by area and one of the
fastest-growing cities in Nepal. The city has both hilly and plain area so it is very comfortable
for a stay since it's neither too cold nor too hot.
How to reach CMC: Students can easily travel by train through Gorakhpur (6 to 7 hours by road to CMC), Raxaul (3 to 4 hour by road to CMC). We have almost 12 to 15 domestic flights from Kathmandu so if anyone is looking to travel by Flight, they can either reach Kathmandu and then Bharatpur. from the airport, CMC is hardly 10 minutes drive. If you even choose to fly to Gorakhpur and from there you can take an Indian taxi. The Indian plate taxi can easily enter to Nepal border by paying INR 300 taxes per day.
CMC has a good FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) passing rate, and the university provides strong clinical exposure.

The integrated hospital is much more advanced and has good patient flow.
No language issue.
Hindi is spoken by most Nepalese, so it is easier to communicate during study and internship as well.
