Welcome to Saphena Women’s Dental College: Saphena Women’s Dental College & Hospital is the only women’s dental college in Bangladesh and affiliated with the University of Dhaka. It is situated in the heart of capital city at holding no -64 , Plot no- 111, Malibagh, DIT Road, Dhaka-1217 ready to serve the nation by giving dental education to the women’s and to provide hospital service for the benefit of the general people in all kind of treatments of medicine and dentistry. Saphena Women’s Dental College is a private women’s dental college, the first of its kind in Bangladesh. The College and Hospital is housed in its own 7 storied Rajuk approved building having 65,000sq. ft. plan area. It is situated in the heart of the city at holding No.-64, Plot no. -111, Malibagh, DIT Road, Dhaka-1217 ready to serve the nation by giving dental education to the women’s and to provide hospital service to the mass people with at least cost. The College and Hospital is situated by the side of 100 feet wide road. The construction is well planned and constructed for the purpose of the College and Hospital. Facilities: Library cm reading room: The Library and reading room is accommodated in a safe and comfortable hall room. Fifty students can use the reading room at a time. Seating arrangement are completely independent and uninterrupted from each other. The students can borrow books from the counter of librarian for reading in the library. There are arrangements for accommodation of books and journal in shelves and almirahs. Class Room: There are two spacious lecture theatres in the College. Seating arrangements for seventy students are available in each of them. Besides, lecture dias, black board and arrangement for adequate lighting, air ventilation including all other ancillary facilities also exist in the lecture room. Microphone, overhead projector, multimedia projector are also provided for efficient teaching. Dissection Hall: There is a big Bio-chemistry and Physiology laboratory where sixty students can attend practical and experiential classes at a time . All chemicals, water, gas etc. all other necessary facilities are existed in the laboratory. There is also a science of dental materials lab with all necessary facilities. Bio-chemistry Physiology laboratory: Bio-chemistry Physiology laboratory: There are tow dissection table in the dissection hall for dissecting two dead bodies at a time Morover, well arrangement exists for maintenance of dead body and viscera. A full time taxidermist is engaged for the purpose of supervision and maintenance of dead body under the curator. Auditorium: The College auditorium is large with three hundred persons comfortable seating arrangements for seminar, cultural functions, workshop & annual function etc. can be held comfortably. Canteen: The college canteen is self sufficient. Good arrangements for refreshments for the students exist in it. Common room: There is a separate common room for the students. Arrangements are available in the common room for the in door games. There is an office with necessary modern facilities for promptly performing academic & administrative works of the college Educational implements & equipment: There are necessary educational implements and equipments in the college. Pathology department: A self sufficient pathology department has been set up in the floor of the college building with modern sophisticated equipments Teachers room: There is a teachers meeting room where in the teachers can take rest, discuss about academic and other related affairs. Moreover well furnished independent rooms are available for each departmental head. Academic activities: A regular co-ordination meeting is being held between academic director & teachers to maintain the students education. Secured hostel Accommodations are available are available for the students.
