Founded in 1959 by the Warangal Regional Medical Education Society, KMC began with strong support from the then CM of Andhra Pradesh, Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, and Warangal District Collector Mohsin Bin Shabbir. In 1966, the permanent campus was inaugurated by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and since then, the college has become a benchmark for medical education in South India.
Since 1972, KMC has offered PG programs across all departments.
