Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Medical College, Pune when established in February 1989 was affiliated to Pune University. In April 1996, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune was granted Deemed status for its academic excellence and the medical college became a constituent unit of the deemed university.
The College and the degrees offered are recognized by the National Medical Commission. The College is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools of the World Federation for Medical Education and FAIMER. Our students are eligible to appear for USMLE and PLAB examinations. The Medical College received NAAC A++ reaccreditation in 4th cycle as a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (DTU), Pune.
The college offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Super Specialty programmes along with numerous Fellowships, PhD and Skill Development Certificate courses. The department of Pediatrics runs international fellowship in collaboration with Birmingham University, UK.
Bharati Hospital has been awarded A+ grade by Government of Maharashtra under the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana. The clinical laboratory of the hospital is NABL accredited and the Emergency Medicine Department, Blood Bank and Ethics committee are NABH accredited. We are also accredited by NABH for Nursing Excellence.
The first volunteer in India for ‘CoviShield’ vaccine trial was enrolled at Bharati hospital, Pune. Bharati hospital was the first recognized private COVID-19 management hospital in collaboration with Pune Municipal Corporation
